Learning to read and write characters is one of the most fascinating aspects of studying Chinese. Their history, origins, complexity, and the logic behind their formation are truly captivating.
However, without an understanding of these elements, mastering characters can quickly become tiring and feel like an impossible mission.
That’s why I decided to create this course – to introduce beginners to the world of Chinese writing in a simple, accessible way and make learning characters easier.

How the course works
The main goal is for participants to learn how to write characters by understanding how the Chinese writing system works. The aim is not simply to memorise these hundred characters, but to master the strokes, stroke order, and overall system through writing them – so that by the end, you can confidently write any character correctly!
In addition, throughout the course you’ll see how certain characters combine to form other words or phrases. You’ll also discover fascinating facts about the Chinese writing system and have the chance to learn through engaging exercises.
The course lasts for one month and is designed so that every morning you receive resources by email to work through. On each weekday, you’ll get five new characters along with an interesting fact about the Chinese writing system, while at weekends you’ll receive explanations on how to combine the characters you’ve learned to form new words, as well as quizzes to test your progress. Best of all, you can do it anytime and anywhere!
